For the Literary Review of Canada, I wrote a personal essay about my ten-day hike in Nunavut. I also critiqued True North, by Whit Fraser, the long-time CBC radio personality.

In October 2021, fuel contaminated Iqaluit’s water supply. My reporting won a QCNA Best Investigative Reporting award, and made it into the pages of the Literary Review of Canada.

Before COVID-19 reached North America, many Canadian citizens were stuck on a cruise ship docked off Japan’s coast. I shared their story for the Toronto Star.

Reporting for Maclean’s early in the pandemic, I crafted a story about community, resilience, and inequity. Meet the “caremongers.”

Working for Kelowna Capital News, I discovered low-income residents lived in a motel—which was about to be boarded up by the district—for free. When councillors read my story, they arranged for caseworkers to find everyone a home.

I wrote a feature about the growth of solutions journalism in Canada for the Review of Journalism. It was later republished in The Tyee.
